Benjamin Godfrey Windus (1790-1867) of Tottenham Green, probably acquired from the artist. John Dillon, his sale, Foster's, London, 7-9 June 1856, lot 145: catalogue "Nantes, the celebrated drawing from "The Keepsake" " Untraced until 1994 It is believed that the drawing entered the present vendor's family around 1900. Purchase by the town of Nantes in 1994.
