Self-guided tour
Book a self-guided tour
Reservation in advance is required for all group tours. Groups without a reservation will not be granted access to the museum galleries. It is recommended to book a few weeks prior to the planned date.

There are two parts to a group reservation:
- Pay the group reservation fee: all groups (7 to 25 people maximum, including exempt visitors) must book a specific time and date for their visit and pay a group reservation fee (70 €).
- Purchase a "participants" ticket: this ticket allow for the admission of the whole group. Individual admission tickets cost €22 (click here for list of visitors eligible for free admission). The number of visitors may be changed, subject to availability, until the day prior to the visit.
If you are a tourism professional and and wish to book a tour for a foreign school group, please contact us.
Every day except Tuesdays, 1 May, 25 December and 1 January. Time slots are available between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and until 7.15 p.m. on Wenesdays and Fridays.

Group bookings are currently open until February 28, 2025. Reservations for group slots for March and April 2025 open on Tuesday, January 7.

On the day
Figure out what you want to see and which entrance you should use to access the museum. On the day of your visit, go to the group entrance with your reservation and one ticket per group member.
You will then need to check in at the group reception area under the Pyramid with your reservation in order to gain group visit access and the right to speak publicly. A cloakroom and restrooms are available.
To ensure that everyone enjoys a comfortable visit, museum guides and their guests must use their own headphones. Without this equipment, groups cannot be admitted to the museum.
At the end of the visit, which lasts a maximum of 3 hours, the whole group must leave the museum. It is strictly forbidden to continue the visit individually.
The right to speak publicly
In order to be granted permission to speak publicly in the museum, tour guides must hold a professional card. As the reservation fee covers the right to speak publicly, once arrangements have been made tour guides may take the group around the museum at the booked time slot.
Due to the configuration of rooms inside the museum, we ask tour guides to avoid speaking in rooms 607 to 632 in order to ensure optimal visiting conditions throughout the ‘LOUVRE COUTURE’ exhibition.
