The Louvre: Images and Perspectives
4 November 2026 – 30 August 2027
Designed to be a calm and relaxing space, the Studio is also a space that invites visitors to engage with the museum's collection. It encourages exploration and offers everyone a chance to express their creativity.
Following in the footsteps of the many artists who have photographed, painted or drawn the museum, and with the Louvre itself as their playground, visitors can examine images of the Louvre and reflect on how those images were created, and how they depict the building and its architecture.
A range of self-guided activities have been made available, which offer an opportunity to explore these different perspectives in a hands-on way. Looking is a skill to be learned like any other, so experiment and have fun creating images to share what the Louvre looks like from your perspective.
Activities :
- A question of perspective
Take a look through the cameras and discover how a simple shift in the perspective from which you view an image can make it feel like you’re looking at a whole different thing!
- Building tiles
Explore the different shapes available and design your own façade for the Louvre. Copy a historical design or come up with something brand new, it's all up to you!
- Photos from the Louvre
Get ready to build your own pyramid! Carefully follow the instructions to make it.
- The Louvre : a very long history
Have fun playing with the shapes and figurines provided. They’re inspired by the many historical figures with connections to the museum and by the building’s architecture. The buildings are colour coded. You can use the key to piece together the museum’s story. Or you can make up a new story of your own!
