The Louvre is carrying out some major maintenance and renovation work to make the visitor experience as comfortable and positive as possible. As a result, some of the museum rooms have to be periodically closed. In addition, some rooms may need to be closed for weather-related or technical reasons.
On Wednesdays and Fridays, rooms on Level 2 will open at 10:30 a.m.

Louvre Couture. Art and fashion: statement pieces. In order to carry out regular maintenance on the collections of the Musée du Louvre, rooms 601–604 will close from Thursday 21 August.
In high temperatures, the Napoleon III Apartments may close for preservation purposes.
In order to disassemble the ‘Louvre Couture’ exhibition,
- rooms 601 to 604 will be closed from Thursday 21 August to Monday 15 September 2025
- rooms 605 to 628 will be closed from Monday 25 August to Friday 29 August 2025,
- rooms 506 to 530 will be closed from Monday 25 August to Friday 5 September 2025,
- rooms 500 to 505 will be closed on Wednesdays 27 August to Friday 29 August 2025, and from Monday 1 September to Friday 5 September,
- rooms 535 to 564 (including the Napoleon III Apartments) will be closed from Monday 1 September to Friday 5 September.
